Okay, Tucson...it has been a tough few years! Everyone's lives were changed one way or another. One of the biggest changes? Our health. 🤒 We were forced to sit at our computers for work or school, told to stay at home and watch Netflix, and then we were isolated from our friends, family members, and our community. Something needs to change! We need to get moving again!
That's where BA Studios comes in. 💕
We're all on social media seeing people starting to make changes. They're at the gym, they're doing their own workouts, they're showing off their meal prepping. That's so intimidating to someone trying to get started again!
We are that place to help you get started. We're not a big box gym. We design your classes and workouts so you don't have to stress, and we have professionals that can help advise you on nutrition.
So, we offer low impact fitness. What does that mean? The term "low impact" or "low intensity" refers to workouts that put a "low amount of" or no stress on your joints — think walking, swimming, and cycling. Unlike higher-impact activities, like running, plyometrics and HIIT, there's no hard landing when your feet hit the ground. Why is this important? You're less likely to get injured during or after exercise, and it's safer for your joints. It's also like, really fun. 💕
Our favorite and most well-known type of class to teach. #BarrewithBri. Barre is a full body workout inspired by elements of ballet, yoga, strength training, and Pilates. The focus is on low-impact and high-intensity movements designed to strengthen, tone, and lengthen muscles. The class could include combinations at the barre, standing center floor work, and mat work.
Our Hatha and Vinyasa yoga classes emphasize the sequential movement between postures, coordinated with and guided by deliberate breath. Our yoga classes move from pose to pose with each held for no more than five to eight breaths. Expect a fully balanced class of forward bending, twists, and backbends with opportunity for inversions.
Hatha vs Vinyasa Flows
There's a lot of history with Hatha and Vinyasa styles classes. A quick explanation...Hatha is a nice and slow beginner class and Vinyasa is usually a bit more challenging by moving at a faster pace.
Yoga and Pilates fusion class! We get to be creative and design our own fusion class of yoga flows and mat work Pilates exercises.
This class develops a longer, leaner, stronger and more graceful body by improving muscular symmetry, alignment, posture, core-strength and flexibility. The class is moderately paced to cultivate strength, flexibility, and balance within a gentle, continuous sequence of postures.
And that's only the beginning...
As our gorgeous studio grows, we plan to add Dance Fitness classes to schedule. Our Dance Fitness classes will combine various music genres with dance moves. All routines incorporate interval training and alternating fast and slow rhythms, to help improve cardiovascular fitness.
We will offer classical dance classes like ballet, pointe, jazz, and hip hop for adults. There are so many dancers that quit after high school. Yes, because we get busy, but also because Tucson doesn't have a lot of opportunity for adults to take classes if they aren't involved with the university.
We will later be adding more unique and specific classes like Yoga for Dancers, Preschool Movement and Dance Workshops, Prenatal Yoga and Barre, DNS Breathing Workshops and Series, Dance Teacher Trainings, and more.
There are so many different needs in our community and our studio is open to embracing new styles of teaching, unique classes, and introducing new dance and fitness concepts to Tucson.
The sky is the limit. Let's get moving together, Tucson. It's time. 💕
